Marchos Powder Shot - 2012 BC, CANADA

This is Marcin here sending in a quick update from my Northern Hemisphere adventures.
I am in Vancouver, British Columbia at the moment. Got a job working as Terrain Park Technician and a side gig as Snowboard Instructor up at Mt Seymour in the Coastal Mountains two weeks ago.

Mt Seymour is one of three Ski resorts near Vancouver. The other two are Cypress and Grouse Mtn. Travel time is roughly 1 hour from Downtown Vancouver to get there, but Public Transport is excellent and affordable here.

I have only taken 6 merino wool pieces of Icebreaker with me, a puffer jacket and a soft-shell. The IB and Mons Royale gear have been amazing, but sadly my puffer gets wet after 2 hours of rain. Coming to B.C., a good Gore-Tex shell jacket is essential as it is very moist most days.

I have ridden the new Burton Malavita EST bindings and they are exceptional. The feeling is of being very close to the snow; you can feel your board way more. The highback is very supportive and padding kicks ass. This binding is a super performer and I would recommend it to anyone.

My other favourite has been my new Lib Tech 157 Travis Rice Pro snowboard. Had it tested in Whistler and on the Blackomb Glacier and it was a powerful, technical piece of riding gear. Turns tight and is very fast in the Trees, on Groomers and in Steep riding zones. Loving it!

That's it from me now, have to run to go to Seymour. We are building a huge Terrain Park for the 'Nike Chosen Tour' snowboard event on Friday Feb 10th.

Take care for now.
