February 4th - 2010 - OLYMPIC HALFPIPE NATIONAL TEAMS
With The Vancouver Olympic Games only a couple of weeks away, it is time to look at the individuals chosen to duke it out in icy Canadian halfpipes. Make no mistake, all those guys and girls you see below are gnarly riders well used to hiking frozen halfpipes worldwide and throwing down big moves. This year, the drama factor is running very high as the double cork factor and training injuries have played a major role in sidelining many talented snowboarders from entering the Olympics including Antti Autti, Kevin Pearce, Mason Aguirre and Australia's own Nate Johnston.
The majority of the National Olympic Halfpipe Teams for snowboarding have just been announced on www.ttrworldtour.com. Here's the list of them:

February 2nd - 2010 - SHAUN WHITE WINS THE X-GAMES @ BUTTERMILK, COLARADO
Shaun White has stomped his dominance all over the halfpipe taking out this years X-GAMES at the legendary Buttermilk resort in Colarado. The question is: can anyone beat him? Can he push the sport any further? Everytime it looks like someone is coming close, he pulls something brand new out of the bag and blows everyone out of the water.... A double McTwist 1260? Are you kidding me?
It's hard to explain in words just how crazy this guy is. Just check the video below and bask in the awesomeness that is Shaun White in the pipe.
If i was a betting man, I'd put the farm on Shaun. Did you see the method he pulls first trick up? That's 23ft plus out of the pipe. Then take into account the standard superpipe 22ft wall. That's 45ft from the flat.... Ridiculous.
You can check out Shaun in the halfpipe competition which starts on Monday the 15th of Feb
Till next time....
