The undersized shaft was originally designed for women, teens and others with smaller hands but is also favored by paddlers who seek greater grip control in chaotic water. Also, for people that prefer to wear gloves, to compensate for the material thickness. It is the most economical way to get into an AT bentshaft touring paddle. Dihedral shaped polypro/glass blades slice through the water without flutter, and improve rolling ability.
