Suggested gear list for
The Stirling Ridge Walk
The ‘ridge walk’ is
just one of many treks available in the Stirling Ranges, and for many, is one
of the most challenging hikes in Western Australia. The landscape is
exceptionally varied and challenging. The remoteness and difficulty of this
location means that a trekker should be prepared for all conditions and be
self-sufficient. There are few places to place a tent and many trekkers opt not
to take one, relying on cave accommodation. Water sources are also very limited
which is an area that needs to be researched before you go. Fuel stoves are
essential as fires are not permitted, and most certainly should never be relied
upon for cooking needs. And the weather is totally unpredictable. It can get
very cold, very wet, & very windy. But the scenery is simply outstanding.
You will truly be amazed at this hidden secret of the south-west.. Enjoy!
